PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for treatment and prevention of Alzheimer's disease.SOLUTION: The present invention contains at least Monascin or Ankaflavin of monascus yellow color, and the Monascin or Ankaflavin is extracted from a monascus fermentation product. Further, the invention displays having treatment and preventive effect to Alzheimer's disease by ingesting Monascin at the dosage of 18 mg or more per day for adult and ingesting Ankaflavin at the dosage of 2.6 mg or more per day for adult. A composition for treatment and prevention of Alzheimer's disease of the present invention can lighten symptom of reduction in memory loss and learning ability caused by a buildup phenomenon of β-Amyloid in a brain, and can reduce inflammatory response and oxidation stress induced in a cerebral cortex and a hippocampus tissue by β-Amyloid.
