PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device of an internal combustion engine which removes deposits adhering to an ignition plug during a compression self-ignition operation at proper timing, and can stably burn an air-fuel mixture by the spark discharge of the ignition plug when switched to a spark ignition operation from the compression self-ignition operation.SOLUTION: An ECM 100 comprises: a deposit accumulation amount estimation part 101 which estimates an integrated value of an accumulation amount of deposits of an ignition plug 10 on the basis of a state of an engine when the engine performs an HCCI-operation; and a spark discharge execution part 102 which executes the spark discharge of the ignition plug 10 when the engine performs the HCCI-operation on condition that the integrated value of the accumulation amount of the deposits which is estimated by the deposit accumulation amount estimation part 101 is not smaller than a prescribed threshold.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
