PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that a remaining recording medium cannot be detected by any of sensors in an apparatus, when the recording medium is wound around a fixing unit.SOLUTION: The existence of the recording medium is detected on the upstream side of image forming means in the conveyance direction of the sheet-like recording medium. The existence of a loop formed on the recording medium is detected by a difference between a conveyance speed in the image forming means and a conveyance speed in fixing means, between the image forming means and the fixing means. When the recording medium is not detected in both of the two detections, the operation of the fixing means is stopped and the operation of the image forming means is stopped to check whether or not the loop exists again, after a lapse of a prescribed standby period of time.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
