PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for manufacturing a tire member, which can reduce the generation of a time loss from a stop at a line to a restart regarding manufacturing of a narrow fiber cord band (JLB tape).SOLUTION: This method for manufacturing a tire member manufactures a plurality of narrow cord bands by cutting top cloth in which fiber cords arrayed at predetermined pitches are covered with topping rubber with predetermined widths, and is characterized in that when parts of the narrow fiber cords formed by cutting the top cloth are removed downstream of the cutting place, the plurality of narrow fiber cord bands are pressed on the downstream side of the cutting place by pressing means to hold tension applied on the top cloth and the plurality of narrow fiber cord bands, and then parts of the narrow fiber cord bands are removed on the downstream side of the pressing means.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
