The present invention improves sealing of a combustion chamber or an air chamber by a sealing member. This fuel cell stack is provided with multiple power generation units, and is fastened with multiple fastening members. Each of the power generation units includes a single cell and a sealing member that is nipped between two other members to seal either a combustion chamber or an air chamber. The surface roughness Ra of a surface that is of the sealing member included in at least one of the power generation units and that opposes one of the two other members is not greater than 3.0 µm.
