A method for varying air flow speed in an aerosol generating system comprising an aerosol generating device in cooperation with a cartridge. The aerosol generating system comprises a vaporizer 119 for heating an aerosol-forming substrate 115 to form an aerosol, at least one air inlet 123 defined between the cartridge and the aerosol generating device, and at least one air outlet 125. The air inlet 123 and the air outlet 125 are arranged to define an air flow route between the air inlet 123 and the air outlet 125. The method comprises moving a first member of the cartridge linearly relative to a second member of the aerosol generating device to adjust the size of the at least one air inlet 123, so as to vary the air flow speed in the air flow route.. |
