PURPOSE: To prevent erroneous light emission and to improve safety by providing a light shielding device opening an optical path of an optical head and shielding the optical path while interlocking with loading of a cartridge for an information recording medium to a device main body. CONSTITUTION: The end part 1c of the cartridge 1 depresses and moves a cartridge abutment part 7c of a shutter open lever 7 against an energizing force of a spiral coil spring 9, and the fork part 7a of the shutter open lever 7 turns a shutter 8, and retreats it from a position where a luminous flux is shielded. In such a case, since the shutter open lever 7 is operated directly by the end part 1a of the cartridge 1, the probability of a malfunction is reduced compared with one interlocking with a loading mechanism, etc. Further, the reliability is improved since the shutter open lever 7 is engaged with the shutter 8 in the both directions. |
