PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an exterior body for a storage element capable of securing liquid tightness and airtightness of a corner part in an exterior body for a storage element when manufacturing the exterior body by bending or welding an expansion plate.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing an exterior body for a storage element comprises the steps of: bending an expansion plate comprising a first polygonal region, a first bending region connected to an edge of the first region, and a second region which is connected to the first bending region and includes a main wall region connected to the first bending region, a second bending region connected to the main wall region, and a sub-wall region connected to the main wall region via the second bending region; and welding the second bending region and the sub-wall region to the first region with a laser. At least the second bending region of the expansion plate is formed extending closer to the first bending region side than the main wall region. |
