PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable, when applied to a polyhydroxyurethane resin addressing environmental problems, of providing a more useful modified material excellent in terms of gas barrier capacity and mechanical strength.SOLUTION: The provided method for manufacturing a clay mineral-containing polyhydroxyurethane resin composition is a method for obtaining a clay mineral-containing composite material excellent in terms of gas barrier capacity and mechanical strength by polyaddition-reacting a 5-membered ring cyclic carbonate compound and an amine compound where the polyaddition reaction is induced within a system in which a clay mineral having been hydrophobized based on the ionic coupling therewith of an organic onium compound having 6 or more carbon atoms exists in a state of being dispersed within a raw ingredient composition including: a hydrophobic organic solvent; a compound possessing two or more 5-membered ring cyclic carbonate groups and manufactured by using, as a raw ingredient, carbon dioxide; and an amine compound possessing two or more amino groups and where the quantity of the clay mineral dispersed within the raw ingredient composition is adjusted in such a way that the clay mineral content of the obtained polyhydroxyurethane resin composition is 0.5-30 mass%. |
