摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an agitation flow having a uniform flow speed on a coagulation shell front face of a long side central part of a casting mold in a meniscus position.SOLUTION: The present invention is a method for continuously casting steel while electromagnetically agitating molten steel in the meniscus vicinity in a casting mold. The respective long side central parts 1a of a casting mold upper part have a curved part 1c of curving projectingly on the outside of the casting mold 1 by using a soaking nozzle 2 for forming a slit 2b connected to two discharge holes 2a provided in a sidewall part opposed to a short side wall surface of the casting mold under a meniscus on a bottom wall, and continuous casting is executed so that the relationship between a width (a) in the thickness direction of the slit 2b and the shortest horizontal distance (b) between the curved part 1c and the lower end of the soaking nozzle 2, becomes a/b≤0.6, when supplying hot water to the casting mold 1 having no curved part 1c in a casting mold lower part by becoming small in a curve of the curved part 1c toward the casting mold lower part.EFFECT: Capture of a bubble to a coagulation shell can be prevented in a long side central part and a long side end part of the casting mold in a meniscus position, and a casting piece having an excellent surface quality can be cast without trouble.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
