PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a softening agent for a fiber product that can inhibit stickiness on a fiber product after it is treated with the softening agent.SOLUTION: The softening agent for a fiber product comprises a high molecular weight polymer composed of constitutional units including at least (a-1) a constitutional unit derived from a nonionic monomer having one structure and (a-2) a constitutional unit derived from a nonionic monomer having another structure. The constitutional unit (a-1) constitutes not less than 30 mol% to not more than 90 mol%, and the constitutional unit (a-2) constitutes not less than 10 mol% to not more than 50 mol%, respectively, of all of the constitutional units of the high molecular weight polymer. The total of the constitutional unit (a-1) and the constitutional unit (a-2) is not less than 70 mol% to not more than 100 mol%. In the softening agent, the high molecular weight polymer has no cationic group in the molecule. |
