摘要 Provided is a sterilization method for medical instruments, that prevents a gas-permeable, microparticle-impermeable cover sheet from peeling, even when a housing container is housed inside an autoclave and sterilized by high-pressure steam, said housing container having the cover sheet thermally bonded to the opening edge of the container main body housing a medical instrument. The sterilization method for medical instruments includes: a temperature-increasing step in which the housing container (12) having the gas-permeable, microparticle-impermeable cover sheet thermally bonded by thermoplastic resin to the opening edge of the container main body housing a medical instrument is housed inside the autoclave (10), and high-pressure steam is guided inside the autoclave (10), and the interior of the autoclave (10) is brought to a prescribed temperature; a sterilizing step in which inside the autoclave (10) is held at the prescribed temperature for a prescribed time, and the medical instrument is sterilized; and a cooling step in which inside the autoclave (10) that has been maintained at the prescribed temperature is cooled. In said steps, compressed air is guided inside the autoclave (10) which is in a steam atmosphere as a result of high-pressure steam being guided therein, and the current pressure inside the autoclave (10) is increased to at least the pressure inside the housing container (12) .
