An area defining portion defines an edit area based on an area specifying image included in a read image read from a document by an image reading portion or on an area specifying image inputted through a drawing operation on a document image displayed on a display input portion. The area defining portion defines one or more edit areas. A determination portion determines whether or not an element image is present on a profile line of the edit area in the document image retrieved by a retrieval control portion. An area enlarging portion enlarges the edit area determined by the determination portion as having the element image on the profile line to a range in which the element image is no longer present on the profile line. |
