PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To replace a refill in an easier and more inexpensive manner by simplifying a refill structure of a knock type writing instrument that can be customized for a mechanical pencil, a ball point pen and the like.SOLUTION: A writing instrument includes: a writing member 70 stored inside a shaft barrel 20 and having a writing tip 82 retractable from a leading end thereof; and a knocking mechanism 30 including a knocking member 40 for pressing the writing member 70 forward, a rotary member 50, and a cam mechanism 60. Accompanied with forward press of the knocking member 40, a sliding protruded rim 51 of the rotary member 50 is pushed forward by a sliding protrusion 41 of the knocking member 40 in a cam groove 64 of the cam mechanism 60, and thereby, the rotary member 50 also moves forward, a rear end edge of the sliding protruded rim 51 gets over a locking edge 62 of a locking protruded rim 61 of the cam mechanism 60, and the sliding protruded rim 51 moves along a slope of the locking edge 62. Then, the sliding protruded rim 51 and the locking edge 62 fully engage with each other, and thereby, the writing tip 82 protrudes from the leading end, and even when the knocking member 40 is further pressed forward, the sliding protruded rim 51 is prevented from getting over a level difference between the locking edge 62 and a guiding edge 63 of the cam mechanism 60. |
