PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a DC power supply device and an air-conditioner using the device that are capable of implementing remarkable power factor improvement or remarkable harmonic reduction.SOLUTION: A DC power supply device 11A comprises: a rectification circuit 17a for converting AC power from an AC power supply 13 to DC power; a reactor 15 connected between the rectification circuit 17a and the AC power supply 13; a smoothing capacitor C1 connected to DC output of the rectification circuit 17a; switching circuit units 17b, 19 for short-circuiting the AC power supply 13, through the reactor 15; and a control circuit unit 33 for short-circuiting or opening the switching circuit units. The control circuit unit 33 changes, depending on a voltage phase of the AC power supply 13, cycles for short-circuiting and opening the switching circuit units during a half-cycle of the AC power supply 13. The DC power supply device 11A is applied, in an air-conditioner mounting a rotation speed control type compressor, as a DC power supply device for an inverter circuit for driving the compressor's motor.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
