The invention relates to a contra-angle having a magnetic actuator engaging a transmission system in order to drive, with an alternating motion, a tool-holding head (12) arranged so as to slide inside a housing placed at the end (24) of the handle (9) of the contra-angle. The magnetic actuator comprises at least one coil powered by an AC current with variable frequency and intensity, at least one portion of said coil being subjected to a magnetic field which generates electromagnetic forces therein that tend to impart an alternating motion thereto when the current changes direction, the transmission system transforming the alternating motion of a mounting of the coil into an alternating motion of the tool-holding head (12).
