[Problem] To provide a method for producing compost effectively from agricultural waste such as residue from palm oil extraction, and recycling agricultural waste. [Solution] A method for producing compost using duckweeds comprises a step of obtaining agricultural waste, a step of obtaining duckweeds, a step of obtaining a duckweed mixture, and a cultivation step of obtaining the compost. The step of obtaining agricultural waste is a step of obtaining plant residue such as from oil palm. Plant residue means the solid waste after fruit juice, pulp and oils and fats have been collected from a plant. The step of obtaining duckweeds is a step of collecting duckweeds that are cultivated in a water culture system to obtain the duckweeds. The step of obtaining a duckweed mixture is a step of mixing the agricultural waste and the duckweeds to obtain a mixture of the agricultural waste and the duckweeds. The cultivation step is a step of cultivating the duckweed mixture to obtain compost. With the present invention, compost having a fine grain size can be obtained. Furthermore, mature compost can be obtained by mixing and cultivating agricultural waste and duckweeds. |
