<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adaptively correct the mobility of a drive transistor with respect to a luminance level of a pixel. <P>SOLUTION: In a correction period t from when a control signal DS is applied to a scanning line DS to turn on a switching transistor Tr4 after a control signal WS is applied to a scanning line WS to turn on a sampling transistor Tr1 to start sampling a signal voltage Vsig, until the sampling transistor Tr1 is turned off, correction on the mobility μ of a drive transistor Trd is added to a signal voltage Vsig held at a pixel capacitor Cs. Upon turning off the sampling transistor Tr1, a scanner 4 automatically controls in such amanner that the correction period t is decreased with the higher signal voltage Vsig and is increased with the lower signal voltage Vsig, by imparting a gradient to a falling waveform of a control signal WS.
