A control device for a high-pressure pump (14) equipped with: a pump chamber (17) having an intake port (21) and a discharge port (31) for fuel; a plunger (18) that moves reciprocally within the pump chamber (17); a capacity adjustment valve (23) that opens/closes the intake port (21); and an electromagnetic actuator (27) that drives the capacity adjustment valve (23) so as to open/close the valve. The control device is equipped with a valve opening control means (40) that performs a valve opening control whereby the supply of electricity to a solenoid (30) of the electromagnetic actuator (27) is stopped, thereby moving a movable part (28) of the electromagnetic actuator (27) from a closed position to an open position and opening the capacity adjustment valve (23). When the valve opening control is performed, the valve opening control means (40) continues the supply of electricity to the solenoid (30) and maintains the movable part (28) at the closed position until before or after the fuel pressure in the pump chamber (17) has decreased and the capacity adjustment valve (23) has opened, and in accordance with the estimated amount of heat generated by the solenoid (30), the valve opening control means changes the duration of the period in which the movable part (28) is maintained in the closed position. |
