A bending apparatus 1 with a rotary die 3 is described. The bending apparatus 1 has a basic forming part 2, the rotary die 3, a forming die 4, an upper forming part 5 and a cover part 6. The basic forming part 2 comprises a cylindrical cavity 7, in which the rotary die 3 is rotatably arranged about a swivel axis 8 in a sliding bed 9. The rotary die 3 has a bending position 10 in which a bending profile 11 is aligned in a surface area of a rotary cylinder 13 in the direction towards the forming die 4. The rotary cylinder 13 is rotatable about the swivel axis 8 from the bending position 10 to an opening position. The forming die 4 is arranged in a linear guide 14 of the basic forming part 2 and can be lowered in the bending position 10 in a displaceably sliding manner in the direction towards the surface area of the rotary cylinder 13. The upper forming part 5 comprises a curved receiving area 16 for accommodating a curved plate-shaped work-piece 17, the edge region 18 of which protrudes in the bending position 10 beyond the receiving area 16. The cover part 6 comprises a holding area 19 for holding the workpiece 17 on the receiving area 16. The rotary cylinder 13 comprises a tapering portion 20, 30 shaped in the manner of a truncated cone on at least one face side 21, 22 (see figures 2 and 3), but possibly both (as shown). |
