Information about time slot allocation data of channel signals transmitted through relay lines (4-i;i=1 to N) connected to a subscriber transmission device (2) is integrally managed by a time slot management section (323) of a relay transmission device (3). According to the information, a time slot common control section (324) of the relay transmission device (3) controls the time slot allocation for each relay line (4-i) commonly to the relay lines (4-i), thus adapting the system to any of different line connection modes and line switching modes without changing the basic architecture of the existing subscriber transmission device (2).
