<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator device improved in controllability by synchronizing rotating speeds of a plurality of hoisting machines, while securing a necessary traction force. <P>SOLUTION: A control device 19 has a first control section 20 for controlling the operation of a first hoisting machine 4 and a second control section 21 for controlling a second hoisting machine 5. The first control section 20 controls the operation of the first hoisting machine 4 based on a speed command related to the travelling speed of an elevator car 1.
