PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting device capable of achieving an image display device having a wide color reproduction range and the image display device.SOLUTION: A light-emitting device (10) includes: a light-emitting element (11) which emits blue light; a green phosphor (13) which emits green light by being excited by the blue light; and a red phosphor (12) which emits red light by being excited by the blue light. A peak wavelength of an emission spectrum of the green light emitted from the green phosphor is greater than or equal to 520 nm and less than or equal to 540 nm.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
