PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system capable of reducing a burden on a user when firmware is upgraded to the latest version, by allowing the user, a customer, to freely set date when the firmware is upgraded without schedule adjustment with an engineer.SOLUTION: A software update system includes a management server 10 and an image formation device 20 that are connected with a network and can communicate with each other. The image formation device 20 comprises an agent unit that downloads a firmware file 17b from the management server 10 on predetermined date and time, and applies firmware included in the downloaded firmware file 17b to the image formation device. The management server 10 comprises: a first database 17a storing the firmware file 17b; and a manager unit that obtains the firmware file 17b from the database 17a and transmits the obtained firmware file 17b to the agent unit on the basis of a request by the agent unit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
