PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen water generating agent for stably producing hydrogen water having a high concentration of hydrogen, and a method for producing hydrogen water.SOLUTION: The hydrogen water generating agent of the present invention comprises magnesium hydride and a hydrogen carbonate. A method for producing the hydrogen water generating agent of the present invention comprises a step of adding the hydrogen water generating agent in water. A method for producing the hydrogen water generating agent of the present invention comprises a step of adding magnesium hydride and a hydrogen carbonate in water.
