PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sintered bearing capable of reducing the amount of copper used and costs, while exhibiting excellent initial running-in characteristics and quietness as well as high durability.SOLUTION: A mold is filled with a raw material powder including iron powder, flat copper powder, low-melting-point metallic powder, and graphite to form a green compact with the flat copper powder deposited on the metal molding face. Next, by sintering the green compact without reacting the iron inside the green compact with carbon, a sintered bearing 1 can be obtained which has: a base part S2, where an iron structure is formed in a ferrite phase, and the copper content is uniformed; and a surface layer S1, which covers the surface of the base part S2 and has more copper content than the base part S2. |
