A layer arrangement consisting of at least one transparent substrate having an electri- cally conductive layer, an electro-optically active layer; and a further substrate having an electrically conductive layer, characterized in that at least one of the two electrically conductive substrates is additionally coated with an organic conductive polymer system, can be employed for the construction of liquid-crystal displays.
