PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a test image output apparatus which can generate, by a simple method, a test image for correcting a density while reducing the influence of in-plane unevenness.SOLUTION: A primary chart data generation unit 322 generates primary test image data. A secondary chart color conversion unit 370 calculates a measurement density value corresponding to a plurality of patches output onto a recording medium, from the read data of a primary test image. A correction necessity determination unit 342 calculates the difference between a value related to the measurement density value and a target density value corresponding to a correspondent patch. When the difference thus calculated is equal to or larger than a predetermined value, a secondary chart data generation unit 362 generates secondary test image data for each color of a patch corresponding to a difference equal to or larger than a predetermined value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
