A telescopic fitment (60, Fig. 1) for connecting a magnetic filter (10, Fig. 1) to a central heating system comprises a first (62, Fig. 1) and second (64, Fig. 1) connectors, each connector comprising a filter connection end 66ꞌ and a circuit connection end 68ꞌ. At least one of the connectors comprises an inner pipe 70ꞌ and an outer pipe 72ꞌ, the filter connection end on one of the inner 70ꞌ or outer 72ꞌ pipes and the circuit connection end on the other of the inner 70ꞌ or outer 72ꞌ pipes. The inner pipe 70ꞌ slides within the outer pipe 72ꞌ to adjust the relative positions of the circuit and filter connection ends whilst maintaining a sealed fluid path. A stop comprising a snap ring 82 held between a holding groove 88 and a detent 84 on the inner pipe 70ꞌ and a snap ring assembly groove 88 prevents the inner 70ꞌ and outer 72ꞌ pipes becoming detached. A method of assembling a telescopic fitment (60, Fig. 1) is also claimed. |
