The method involves determining a concentration of a permeate in a measuring cycle in a measuring chamber, where the permeate is available as test gas in a test gas chamber with a constant concentration. The measuring chamber is flushed with a constant permeate free flushing gas volume flow by opening the locking element in a measuring variant at reaching a predetermined upper shift concentration or in another measuring variant at reaching a predetermined concentration time. The permeate concentration decreases due to flushing in the open measuring chamber. The time course of the permeate concentration is either determined in a measuring variant up to reaching a predetermined lower shift concentration or in another measuring variant up to reaching a predetermined flush time. |
