PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily retrieve information displayed on a screen by shifting a document to right just at a prescribed horizontal moving distance until displaying its right side terminal part, and shifting the document downward just at a prescribed vertical moving distance. SOLUTION: When automatic scrolling is started, a microprocessor 20 reads data for one picture showing the start point of a part to be displayed from a memory 30 and outputs these data to a video RAM 40. Thus, the part at the first position of the document is displayed on the screen. After one scroll cycle, the document is moved to right just at one horizontal interval and the document part shifted by one horizontal cycle is displayed on the screen. When the displayed document part includes the right side part of the document, it is judged whether the displayed document part includes the lower terminal part of the document or not. When the lower terminal part is not included, the document is shifted downward just at the vertical moving interval and the document part including the left terminal part is displayed on the screen. |
