PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent failures in an image produced when a 1st signal is switched into a 2nd signal or vice versa. SOLUTION: In the case that a 1st signal (interlaced scanning signal) is received, a mixer selection circuit 111 receives a motion detection circuit 106 based on a mode detection signal from a mode detection circuit 117 to mix both outputs of a delay circuit (FM) 102 and a vertical interpolation filter(IPF) 103 to obtain an interpolation signal. In the case that a 2nd signal (signal resulting from a noninterlaced scanning signal into an interlaced scanning signal) is received, the mixing selection circuit 111 selects the 2nd signal or an output of the delay circuit 105 depending on the mode detection signal from the mode detection circuit 117 and a field number to obtain the interpolation signal. In the case that the 1st signal is switched into the 2nd signal, the mixing selection circuit 111 receives the motion detection signal for at least one field at changeover in response to the mode detection signal from the mode detection circuit 117 and an output of the vertical interpolation filter 103 is selected as the interpolation signal (in-field interpolation). |
