1. A method for a decoder for attenuating an audio signal, the method comprising:
determining a width of a continuous spectral region, the continuous spectral region comprising spectral regions of the audio signal to be attenuated and coded with either a low number of bits or with no bits assigned; and attenuating the audio signal by applying an attenuation of the continuous spectral region adaptive to the width such that an increased width decreases the attenuation of the continuous spectral region. |
