PURPOSE: To obtain new imidazoline derivatives or their tautomers having a basic fibroblast growth factor production-stimulating action, an attaching factor-decreasing action and a protecting factor-increasing action, high in safety, having an excellent antiulcer action, and useful as a wound-healing medicine. CONSTITUTION: The imidazoline derivative of formula I (each of R1 , R2 in H, a lower alkyl, an aryl, an aralkyl, etc.; R3 is a nitrogen-containing aromatic ring which may be replaced with a lower alkyl, a lower alkoxy or a lower alkanoyl, etc.; n is an integer of 1-4) or its possible tautomer (preferably a tautomer of formula II or III). For example, 2-(2-dimethylaminobenzylsulfinyl)-5,5- dimethylimidazoline-4-thione. The compound of formula I is obtained by reacting a 2,4-dithiohydantion compound of formula IV or its possible tautomer with a compound of formula: R3 -(CH2 )n -X (X is a halogen) and subsequently oxidizing the obtained product. |
