Provided is an opening/closing mechanism for a rotary cover that can stop a transparent cover that rotates within a plane at a suitable closed cover position. The opening/closing mechanism for a rotary cover is provided with a transparent plate-shaped cover, a shaft body and a rotation mechanism. The cover closes an opening provided in part of an upper surface of a device body. One end of the shaft body is fixed to the cover in a direction perpendicular to the cover and at least part of the shaft body is inserted into the inside of the device body from the other end of the shaft body. The rotation mechanism rotatably supports the shaft body such that the cover can rotate around the shaft body in a plane parallel to the upper surface of the device body inside the device body. The rotation mechanism has a regulating part that regulates the angle of rotation of the shaft body in a fixed range such that the cover rotates between a closed cover position at which the cover closes the opening and an open cover position at which the opening is open.
