The device includes a radioluminescent screen (2) receiving a radiation image of an object to be irradiated (4) exposed to the radiation from a source (S). A photodetector (8) receives the light signals from the radioluminescent screen. Optical means (6) focus the light emitted by the radioluminescent screen (2) on to the photodetector (8), which itself is followed by processing means (10).
