Fats, extracting.-Apparatus for the recovery of free fat from waste food products comprises a series of rotary concentric conical sieves 10, 11, 12 disposed with the taper alternately in opposite directions and provided with a collecting plate 27 beneath one or all of the sieves. The frame 14, 15 carrying the sieves is mounted on rollers 19 and driven by toothed gearing 16, and is enclosed in a steam jacket 20, water being supplied by a spray 28. The material under treatment is supplied by a shoot 28, the graded products being discharged at shoots 24, 25, 26 and the wash water discharging through a shoot at the bottom of the casing.</p> |
