July 8, 1935, No. 19431, [Class 18] A cabinet or rack for books, papers, &c., for example, telephone directories, time tables, and pamphlets, and which may be used for holding a telephone, comprises in the form shown in Fig. 2, a body divided by two partitions 5 into three compartments, the outer ones containing the two volumes of the London Telephone Directory and the centre one the companion volume usually called the Buff Book. A hinged door 6 with a flange 7 is provided at the front of each compartment, the pivot pin 9 being, if desired, continuous through the three compartments and may be secured at its end by a cap nut engaging a thread. On opening any of the doors, the flange 7 raises the volume to the position shown in chain-dotted lines. To return the volume, it is laid on the door in the position shown in dotted lines and the door then turned up. In the form shown in Fig. 4, which is used for papers, cards, &c., a single door 6 is used and a number of fixed partitions 10. The door 6 may alternatively be hinged to the sill 8. The form shown in Fig. 8 is adapted to house a telephone in the centre compartment. In this form the centre compartment may have a fixed top and the front may be closed by a hinged door of any preferred kind or may be left open. |
