a source that produces source charged particles; a collimating microchannel plate arranged after the source, wherein the collimating microchannel plate produces collimated charged particles from the source charged particles; an intensifying microchannel plate arranged after the collimating microchannel plate, wherein the intensifying microchannel plate produces intensified particles from the collimated charged particles; and a target for the intensified particles arranged after the intensifying microchannel plate wherein the target comprises a phosphor screen, wherein the apparatus is implemented in a light enhancement device.
