摘要 According to one embodiment, a sensor-equipped display device includes a display panel, a sensor and a controller. The sensor includes a plurality of detection electrodes. Each of the detection electrodes includes a first electrode and a second electrode. The first electrode includes a greater area in a rear part than in a front part in the first direction in the detection electrode. The second electrode includes a greater area in the front part than in the rear part in the first direction in the detection electrode.

A sensor-equipped display device comprising: a display panel comprising a common electrode; a sensor comprising a plurality of detection electrodes extending in a first direction and arranged in a second direction crossing the first direction, each of the detection electrodes including a first electrode and a second electrode which are opposed to the common electrode, are divided and extend in the first direction,the first electrode including a greater area in a rear part than in a front part in the first direction in the detection electrode, andthe second electrode including a greater area in the front part than in the rear part in the first direction in the detection electrode; and a controller configured to effect switching to either a first mode or a second mode, and to control driving of the common electrode and the detection electrodes, wherein the controller is configured to write, in the first mode, a first write signal to the first electrode and the second electrode of each of the detection electrodes, to read from the first electrode a first read signal indicative of a variation of the first write signal, and to read from the second electrode a second read signal indicative of a variation of the first write signal, and the controller is configured to write, in the second mode, a second write signal to the common electrode, to cause a sensor signal to occur between the common electrode and the first electrode of each detection electrode and between the common electrode and the second electrode of each detection electrode, to read a third read signal indicative of a variation of the sensor signal from the first electrode of at least one detection electrode of the detection electrodes, to read a fourth read signal indicative of a variation of the sensor signal from the second electrode of the at least one detection electrode, and to bundle the third read signal and the fourth read signal, which were read from the detection electrode that is identical, into one signal.
