<p>The process claimed in the parent Specification is applied to the manufacture of steel containing about 0,15 per cent sulphur and 0,2 per cent copper in addition to 0,2 to 0,5 per cent phosphorus. The proportions of copper and sulphur are adjusted by adding copper and sulphur or iron pyrites to the charge of scrap iron, h matite pigiron, silicon iron, or ferro-silicon and Thomas pigiron, preferably in a cupola furnace, prior to decarburizing in an acid-lined Bessemer converter.</p> |
