Method for adjusting a braking torque and magnetic hysteresis brake

The method involves adjusting torque of a magnetic hysteresis brake (1) to a desired value for operating the brake and adjusting the torque during the calibration of the brake by actuating a single adjusting ring (18). The brake has a carrying roller rotated around an axis, and an air gap for separating a magnetic unit and a hysteresis unit from each other. An adjusting unit adjusts a position of the magnetic unit and the hysteresis unit relative to each other such that the torque of the brake is adjusted. An independent claim is also included for a magnetic hysteresis brake for implementing a torque adjusting method.
