[Class 132 (ii).] In an apparatus for playing a game of skill wherein sliders are projected by hand along a table means are provided on the table whereby a film of air is formed under the slider during its sliding movement so that the slider will slide freely over the table with very little friction. The table has a smooth cast-iron surface surrounded by an edging 16 of hard wood or rubber, and is divided by transverse grooves 9 into a number of beds. The player's end 8 of the table is divided from the remainder of the table by a groove 7 and is slightly higher so that the sliders when descending to the lower level entrap a film of air beneath the slider and thus reduce the friction. Alternatively, the surface 8 may slope upwardly towards the groove 7. The sliders, of circular shape and formed of castiron, may be provided with a knurled knob 24, Fig. 5, and with a rubber buffer 25 which may be let into a peripheral recess. The under surfaces of the sliders are polished and may be formed with a number of concentric recesses which create air eddies and pick up dust or grit from the surface of the table.
