While fitting planar components having flat connections on to a printed circuit board, the problem arises that these components should not be subjected to the liquid solder and therefore cannot be fitted on the solder side of the printed circuit board. According to the invention, holes are therefore produced in the printed circuit board, and the planar components are bonded on to the component side of the printed circuit board before being soldered on. Contact is made with the components by means of solder which rises through the holes and connects the flat connections of the planar components to the metallised walls of the holes and to solder surfaces. The invention is used especially in the production of complete printed circuit boards which, in addition to planar components having flat connections, also include components having wire connections. <IMAGE>
