The problem of the invention to specify a component and a method for producing a component, wherein the component can be produced in a simple and cost-effective manner and satisfies the requirements, in particular with respect to acoustics, optics and/or corrosion, is solved with regard to the device in that the structural element provides the opening region in the component by means of a formed region and the formed region consists at least in part of a material having shape-memory characteristics, which material guarantees, when activated, at least a decrease in size of the opening region by means of a change of shape.
