A subpanel for a bag stand includes: a first side panel and a second side panel, each of the first side panel and the second side panel including a top end, a bottom end, two side ends, an inner surface, an outer surface, and a thickness defined from the inner surface to the outer surface. The first side panel additionally includes a connection finger, the connection finger connected to a first side end of the two side ends of the first side panel, the connection finger including a clearance portion and a clasp portion. The second side panel is at least indirectly connected to the first side panel and defines a connection recess in a first side end of the two side ends of the second side panel distal from the first side panel, the connection recess including a clearance portion and a lock portion.

1. A bag stand comprising:
a plurality of side panels, each of the plurality of side panels having a top end, a bottom end, and two side ends, the plurality of side panels forming the bag stand when connecting the plurality of side panels together, the bag stand comprising a top end and a bottom end, the bag stand defining a top opening, a bottom opening, and an interior, a first side panel of the plurality of side panels connected directly to a second side panel of the plurality of side panels and a third side panel of the plurality of side panels connected at least indirectly to the second side panel; and a connection mechanism configured to connect the first side panel and the third side panel directly to each other and comprising a connection finger and a connection recess, the connection finger connected proximate to a first side end of the two side ends of the first side panel and the connection recess defined proximate to a first side end of the two side ends of the third side panel, the connection finger comprising a clearance portion and a clasp portion and the connection recess comprising a clearance portion and a lock portion, the clearance portion of the connection recess sized to receive the clasp portion of the connection finger, the clasp portion configured to slide downward into the lock portion after the clearance portion of the connection finger passes fully into the clearance portion of the connection recess.
