A method and apparatus for displaying a chat list. The method for displaying a chat list comprises: separately setting a chat list control used for recording chat information and a background display control used for displaying a chat background picture, and setting a supporting control below the chat list control for adjusting the height of the chat list control (102); when a floating window used for editing the chat information receives a trigger instruction, determining the height of a selection panel that is pulled up by using the floating window and used for selecting the chat information (104); and adjusting the height of the supporting control according to the height of the selection panel (106). By means of the technical solution, the chat list control is compressed when the selection panel is pulled up, to ensure that the tail part of the chat information in the chat list is always visible; in addition, the background display control is not compressed, thereby avoiding distortion of the chat background picture due to compression. |
