The embodiments of the present invention relate to an adapter upgrade method, mobile terminal, and adapter. The method comprises: a mobile terminal sending to an adapter a number n of data blocks in first upgrade data; the mobile terminal receiving a first response message sent by the adapter according to the n data blocks; if the first response message indicates that the adapter has not received all of the n data blocks, then the mobile terminal determining that the adapter upgrade has failed. In the adapter upgrade method, mobile terminal, and adapter that are provided in the embodiments of the present invention, upgrade data is sent to the adapter by means of the mobile terminal; the adapter receives a certain amount of said upgrade data, then sends confirmation information to the mobile terminal; if, within a certain time, the mobile terminal has not received the confirmation information or the adapter has not received the upgrade data, then the upgrade has failed, and the mobile terminal resends the upgrade data; the accuracy and reliability when the mobile terminal transmits data to the adapter are thus improved.
