Provided are a piercer plug with an increased service life and a manufacturing method therefore. The piercer plug 1 is equipped with a tip section 2, and a body section 3 formed of the same material as the tip section 2 and continuous with the tip section 2. The body section 3 includes a tubular section 5 in which a hole for attaching a bar is formed. The tip section 2 is harder than the tubular section 5.
