The present invention decontaminates a substance contaminated with a radioactive element, which emits radiation, by acquiring special treatment water, for example, by pressurizing water to 0.8 MPa or higher, and immersing, in the thus-acquired special treatment water, the contaminated substance to be decontaminated. The contaminated substance is supposed to be a substance contaminated with an element, e.g., tritium 3, cesium 134, cesium 137, or strontium 90, discharged in, for example, a nuclear power plant accident. |
